  • Furniture Upholsterer Occupational Certificate

  • SAFI has partnered with the Fibre Processing and Manufacturing SETA to develop the Occupational Certificate for a Furniture Upholsterer. A Furniture Upholsterer manufactures an upholstered furnishing item by fitting suspension and padding and covering a frame to give it shape, comfort, and functionality for a range of domestic, commercial and decorative uses. The Qualification is registered with SAQA under Occupational Code: 683401 as a NQF Level 04 with 549 credits. The Assessment Quality Partner is the National Artisan Moderating Body (NAMB) and the Quality Assuring Body: Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). The Qualification is currently in Pilot phase.

  • Furniture Designer Occupational Certificate

  • SAFI has partnered with the Fibre Processing and Manufacturing SETA to develop the Occupational Certificate for a Furniture Designer, the first purely furniture design qualification to be registered on the National Qualification Framework which did not exist before. The Qualification is registered with SAQA as a NQF Level 07 with 555 credits. The Fibre Processing and Manufacturing SETA will act as the Assessment Quality Partner and the Quality Assuring Body is the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). The Qualification is currently finalising the External Integrated Assessment Specifications.
